Tips for Lashing

- Make Sure to check your lash work often for stickies
and proper isolation. Always be aware of the eye pads to ensure they are not sliding up into the clients eyes.

- Sit up Straight and your upper torso should be touching the edge of the lash bed, with feet flat on the floor, and wearing comfortable clothing while lashing. This will prevent back and neck problems. And help you be at the right angle to lash your client your eyes and the clients eyes should almost meet.
- Hair should be tied up, to prevent your hair brushing along clients face as well as preventing glue from getting into your hair.

- Tweezers are very very sharp always have control and know where they are even if you have to quickly look away. They can seriously damage the clients eyes or face.

Client Waiver Forms & Insurance

It is your duty and law requirements to ensure you have the licence and insurance according to your business.  Reach out to any insurance agency for quotes and requirements you may require.  Also reach out to your city to find out the requirements for your home/travel based business.

It is also expected to have each client sign a waiver form.  Have a lawyer make up your own individual waiver if you do not have one.  It is to protect you as a business owner and to

ensure the client is aware of the risks associated with any procedure.  Also if you desire to have pictures you also need to include a release to take and use their image on any social media outlet.

Pictures

Take pictures!  Try many different angles and don't forget to brush and review all photos when complete.  It is a visual industry and these will make you stand out!  Don't be afraid to keep taking photos until you get the right one.  Use a great light.  Ring lights for phones are a huge benefit and make the shot!  Try to avoid overuse of filters. Though they look pretty woman appreciate raw beauty.  Many women feel skeptical when there are too many filters being used as a way to cover.  Definitely use apps such as facetune to help smooth clients skin avoiding the eye area and distort the background as this helps the eyes pop out.

When editing photos ensure you do not edit the lash line, keep your work authentic. However it is always wise to clean up any eyebrow hairs that are astray, acne, wrinkles etc to create a cleaner picture, after all social media is purely visual.

I love the apps:

Snapseed

Facetune

Photomirror

to create unique looking photos.

Social Media

Make sure you have a facebook business page and invite and share to everyone you possibly can. The more you get your name out there the better your outreach for new clients.

Instagram is a huge way to get your business noticed and aim to utilize all it offers.  Link all your media pages together that way when you share on one it shows to the next.

Instagram is one of the quickest ways to gain new clientele. Some people like creating a catchy theme to entertain the visual clients.

Pricing Example

CLASSIC SET $130  regular price once able to get say 90% coverage in roughly 2 hours.

In the meantime:

Promo $80,$90,$100,$110,$120

60 min fill $45   (touch up fill 1 hour)

90 min fill $70 (typical 3 week max if great retention fill)

120 min fill $90  (4 week fill)

These are tough prices. Guideline only. Price yourself to your needs and wants! But these are typical standard prices

Removals of your work should always be free . Coming from others I charge $30 per half hour from other techs if need be or if they are getting a new set I do free removals.

Also keep all receipts for products,  training,  supplies and  decorations etc as you can claim all of this as a business expense for tax season as your accountant will put it under your typical taxes as a sole proprietorship and it will lower your tax bracket.

Get yourself out there! Be well noticed on all forms of social media.

Do giveaways but make them harder to attain. For example

Starting off your page you could make a post saying:

Like, share my page and tag 3  friends.

Once my page gets to 100 likes I will draw for free Set. Or free gift card. Free facial etc. Get creative. But make it at least 80 to 100 like increments as it’s very easy to get say 20 likes.

Hashtags are very helpful.

WordSwag is great for making catchy photos for promos.

Practice & Continuing Support

As a Lash Tech it is extremely important to stay up to date with new styles, techniques, safety and overall knowledge.  This is a fast paced industry and it is our obligation and best interest to stay up to date with all aspects of eyelash extensions.  Continue to practise daily!  You should be practicing your volume fans daily.  The key to success is repetition knowledge and hard work.  It will be tough on certain days and a breeze on the next.  Power through the tough days you will thank yourself later on for doing so!

Always watch other peoples work and see what you can take home and learn from.  What not to do, etc.  As Lash Techs I believe in supporting each other, helping one another to grow into better and more confident techs.  We are a community and should support one another daily.  In saying that please utilize this offer and reach out to your team daily for support ,reach out to one another for support, don't stop learning.  Never be afraid to ask for help, advice or questions.  If you make a mistake or have a bad habit to kick ask for help.  There will never be judgement especially for those wanting to learn and improve.  I am always here to help you in any way.  Be a support for you so you can grow and be confident and the best in this industry!
