Make sure you have a facebook business page and invite and share to everyone you possibly can. The more you get your name out there the better your outreach for new clients. Instagram is a huge way to get your business noticed and aim to utilize all it offers. Link all your media pages together that way when you share on one it shows to the next.
Take pictures! Try many different angles and don't forget to brush and review all photos when complete. It is a visual industry and these will make you stand out! Don't be afraid to keep taking photos until you get the right one. Use a great light. Ring lights for phones are a huge benefit and make the shot! Try to avoid overuse of filters. Though they look pretty woman appreciate raw beauty. Many women feel skeptical when there are too many filters being used as a way to cover. Definitely use apps such as facetune to help smooth clients skin avoiding the eye area and distort the background as this helps the eyes pop out.
When it comes to pricing it is best to factor in the pricing of others in your location. When starting off it is great to always have promo price to get clients in so you can practise your fans and build up your speed. It is extremely important to price according to your worth and quality. Do not undercut yourself. When you price too low people will take advantage of you. When your price according to your worth you will draw a better clientele. Too cheap of prices will make people hesitate to choose you and you will not gain continuous clientele.
Here is an example of prices sitting close to on par with others in Grande Prairie:
Classic set $120
2 week fill $40
2+ week fill $60
3+ week fill $70
Hybrid set $ $140
(mix of russian volume and classic)
2 week fill $50
2+ week fill $70
3+ week fill $80
Russian Volume 2/4D set $170
2 week fill $60
2+ week fill $80
3+ week fill $90
Mini Mega Russian Volume 4/8D set $200
2 week fill $70
2+ week fill $90
3+ week fill $100
Mega Russian Volume 8/15D set $220
2 week fill $80
2+ week fill $100
3+ week fill $120
REMOVALS FOR YOUR WORK SHOULD ALWAYS BE FREE! IT IS IN YOUR BENEFIT AS THEN THE CLIENT DOES NOT PICK OF THEIR EXTENSIONS WHICH WILL RESULT IN THEM BLAMING YOU FOR DAMAGE THAT THEY HAVE CAUSED.
Again these are examples. Make sure to price according to your market, and experience.
Fills in my opinion should only be a cheaper price as you are practicing and only for a short time. Again do not go to low.
Sets to get the clientele in your salon could be something as follows based on the above numbers:
Hybrid promo $100
2/3D volume $120
4/6D volume $160
*Just an example*
Never use the term sale, it comes across as cheap. Always use the term promo as it is a good deal and always welcomed positively.
And only have the initial promo for a certain amount of people or until your confidence allows for a change. Be careful how often you change your price as that can be looked upon with disgust. Keep the promo until you are confident to up it to full price. Once increased to your standard price you can always make temporary promos if you decide you want more practice or try a new style etc. Promos never look bad.
